The lineup for the enhanced 2019 Run 4 Wales 10K Series has been revealed.

The brand-new Porthcawl 10K is the headline addition to the four race series, will build on the success of the inaugural competition earlier this year. Elite athletes will battle it out to be crowned Run 4 Wales 10K Series champion while amateur runners can save with the Run 4 Wales multi-event pass when they sign up for two or more stages of the Series.

The Cardiff Bay Run will welcome a star-studded lineup to the Welsh capital on Sunday 31 March, 2019, to raise the curtain on a blockbuster year of road running in South Wales. The flat course takes in all of the Bay’s historic landmarks to give participants the perfect introduction to the 10K Series.

The ABP Newport Wales 10K will play host to the second leg on Sunday 5 May, 2019. Runners of all abilities the opportunity to experience Wales’ premier marathon event, without taking on the daunting 26.2 mile distance, before the series heads west for the inaugural Porthcawl 10K.

The new event takes place on Sunday 7 July, and will have adventure and outdoor lifestyle at its heart. The route will take in three stunning bays and showcase the regenerated town centre, before the finale along the coast in Barry.

The Barry Island 10K is back by popular demand on Sunday 4 August after the town came alive to support 3,500 runners at the first event this summer. The challenging course makes for a dramatic final stage as Matt Clowes and Eleanor Davis aim to defend their Run 4 Wales 10K Series titles.

Run 4 Wales Chief Executive Matt Newman said: “The 2019 Run 4 Wales 10K Series offers the perfect stage for elite athletes to test themselves across four iconic locations while offering amateur runners fantastic value for money.

“There are only a limited number of Multi Event passes available, so runners are urged to move fast if they want to experience Wales’ best 10K events at a discounted price.”
