10K & Junior Races – Sunday 19 May

Set in the heart of Cardiff’s historic Bay, the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K is a fast, flat and friendly event for all ages and abilities. Previously known as the Cardiff Bay 5 Mile, the race returned in 2017 with a little makeover and stunning new 10km course with a sell-out 6500 runners.

The route takes in all of Cardiff Bay’s most iconic landmarks, starting and finish in Roald Dahl Plass, passing the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay, the Pierhead Building, Senedd, Porth Teigr and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.

Marathon, Half & 10K – Sunday 28 April 2024

The ABP Newport Wales Marathon has finally satisfied the demand for a premier marathon distance event in Wales, made possible by the support of Associated British Ports, Newport City Council and the Welsh Government.

New for 2024 – the event has been expanded into an exciting festival of running with marathon, half marathon, 10K and junior race options.

The route is one of the UK’s flattest and fastest marathon courses – taking in a host of iconic landmarks, picturesque medieval villages and Newport’s recently regenerated city-centre.

The ABP Newport Wales 10K gives runners of all abilities the opportunities to get involved in one of Wales’ biggest weekends of running – without committing to the challenging 26.2 mile distance.

Trail & Junior Races – Saturday 20 July 2024

The Rabbit Run is a stunning trail race that offers the unique opportunity to run on the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate.

Set on the South Wales coast, the Merthyr Mawr Warren National Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife and a trail-running paradise. The Rabbit Run takes in stunning trails, hills, valleys, a river crossing, and the chance to experience a tumble down the Big Dipper, the highest sand dune in Wales.

The event is delivered in partnership by the Merthyr Mawr Estate, Bridgend Athletics & Run 4 Wales (R4W).


CDF 10K – Sunday 1 September 2024

The CDF 10K was established by Welsh charity Kidney Wales in 1985.

In 2023, Run 4 Wales (R4W), Wales’ leading mass participation events company added the historic Cardiff 10K to its portfolio of world-class events. The revival of this iconic event gives thousands of runners the opportunity to take to the streets of the Welsh capital every autumn.

Half Marathon – Sunday 6 October 2024

Run 4 Wales’ flagship event returns on Sunday 6 October 2024.

27,5000 runners will descend on the Welsh capital to celebrate the occasion for an elite and mass participation race on the famous flat, fast course – passing the cities most breathtaking scenery and iconic landmarks.
