It’s the last chance for runners to sign up to this year’s Barry Island 10K as entries are close to selling out.
With less than 300 general entries left, keen runners are being urged to secure their spot before it’s too late if they’re looking to take part in the popular seaside race.
Record numbers registered for the 2025 edition and 2026 is set to be even bigger and better.
Taking place on Sunday 17 May the 10K, which is set in the home of the iconic BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey, promises a scenic route, unbeatable crowd support and a feel-good atmosphere carrying runners from the start right through to the finish line.
Participants will run past all of the town’s most scenic seaside spots and recognisable landmarks – including Whitmore Bay, the Knap, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay, and with the event village situated on the promenade, just in front of the Barry Island Pleasure Park, there will be plenty to get involved in before and after the race.
This year there will be even more for participants and spectators to enjoy as the Barry Island 10K has teamed up with Gŵyl Fach y Fro, for a whole weekend of vibrant Welsh language, music, arts and culture celebrations, taking place on both the Saturday and Sunday.

We’d hate for anyone to miss out on what promises to be another brilliant day down on the seafront, and with our partnership with Gŵyl Fach y Fro, make sure to bring your friends and family along for a fun filled weekend of music and running.”
While general entry spaces are limited there are still a number of entries available to run for the event’s lead charity, Cancer Research Wales. These entries cost just £10 when pledging to raise £120 for the charity which aims to help change the future for the cancer patients of tomorrow in Wales.
