It will be the largest ever Barry Island 10K with more than 4,300 people signed up to take part in the 10K and junior races.

With just one month to go all general entries into the Barry Island 10K 2025 have now sold out.

This means that the only way to now secure a spot into the event is through its lead charity partner, Cancer Research Wales.

After a year-long hiatus in 2024, the Barry Island 10Kwill be returning to the seaside town on Sunday 15 June with a route showcasing the town’s most scenic seaside spots and recognisable landmarks – including Whitmore Bay, the Knapp, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay.

A Family Fun Run, Toddler Dash and competitive Future Challengers mile will also take place alongside the main event, giving something for the whole family to get involved with.

The day promises to have lots for runners and spectators to do alongside the run. The event village will be situated on the seafront with music, entertainment and stands for all to enjoy, and there will also be plenty of cafes, eateries and arcades including the famous Nessa’s Slots and Marco’s Café, not to mention the Barry Island Pleasure Park for all the fun of the fair.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at event organisers Run 4 Wales, said: “The Barry Island 10K was a favourite for many runners and we’re delighted to be bringing it back for 2025.

“The event is set to be bigger and better than ever before and while general entries into the race have now sold out, those who are still wanting to take part can do so by signing up to run for Cancer Research Wales.

“We’re very much looking forward to coming back to the seaside town and watching everyone come together as they take on the course around the best that Barry has to offer.”

Those who’d like to enter to run for Cancer Research Wales can sign up for just £10 when pledging to raise £120 for the charity.
